Based on data from the CDC, the overall number of fatal drug overdose deaths involving All Drugs in the US in 2020 was 48,260, and the age adjusted rate per 100,000 persons was 31.3. These overall values was based on data from 34 jurisdictions (i.e. states and DC).

Among all states with data, Pennsylvania had the highest number of fatal drug overdose deaths involving All Drugs (5,168), followed by Ohio (5,154), North Carolina (3,109), and Tennessee (2,970).

In terms of the age-adjusted rate of fatal drug overdose deaths involving All Drugs per 100K persons, West Virginia had the highest (78.5), followed by Kentucky (47.6), and Delaware (47.4).
