At approx. 0300 at Andrade Slaughterhouse's holding pens, on 4/17/21, inspection observes noncompliance. Approaching 1 of the 2 pens in use that morning, I observed 3 animals held without water. An amount of feces enough to suggest overnight holding in this pen was apparent. I alerted Mr. REDACTED to the condition and inquired if they had been moved into this pen in prep for driving into the knocking box. He confirmed they had remained in that pen since yesterday. To remedy the condition, the animals were led into the drive alley and prepared for humane slaughter. The condition observed is a non-egregious noncompliance with 313.2(e) which states: "Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens" No other NR stemming from this condition in the last 90 days.
