Non-Compliance Description:

On Monday April 12, 2021 at approximately 12:30 p.m., while conducting a routine antemortem livestock inspection, I was walking through the door that exits from the kill floor to the exterior walkway of the animal holding pens, when a non-compliance was observed. The metal door had a damaged piece of metal approximately 6" by 6" in size that was hanging from the mid section of the door. I immediately pointed out the damaged area to kill floor supervisor REDACTED. He then directed the maintenance man to repair the door before inspection operations began. This door way is not used for traffic of animals, therefore no animals were harmed or could become injured. I observed the metal being welded back on and allowed operations to begin. Failure to comply may result in further regulatory action.
