Non-Compliance Description:

HATS Category III: Water and Feed Availability At Thursday, May 20, 2021 approximately 0700 while conducting a Livestock Humane Handling task, the following noncompliance was observed: Three bovines confined in holding pen number 5 did not have access to water. There was no water tub in the pen, indicating that the animals had been without access to water since they were received by the establishment. Upon discovering the animals without water access, I notified a plant employee who placed a water tub in holding pen number 5 and filled it with water. I immediately notified slaughter supervisor REDACTED of my findings and that a noncompliance would be issued. This shall serve as official notice of noncompliance. Per 9 CFR 313.2(e), animals shall have access to water in all holding pens.
