On 04/18/2022 at approximately 5:05pm while performing HATS category VIII, the SPHV observed that it took two stunning attempts to render a hog unconscious. The first stun did not render the hog unconscious. The employee performing the stunning took immediate effective corrective actions between the first and second stun and rendered the hog unconscious on the second stun. On postmortem inspection there were two distinct points of contact observed on the head of the hog, but it appeared that only one of the stuns had penetrated the middle of the skull. Management (Mrs. REDACTED) was immediately notified of noncompliance.
