HATS Category VIII Stunning Effectiveness At approximately 13:58, while performing a Livestock Humane Handling Task, I observed an establishment employee move a hog into the knock box. The establishment employee made an initial stun attempt with a firearm and the hog moved at the time of the stun. The observed attempt was ineffective, as the animal remained standing. The establishment employee picked up a higher caliber firearm and delivered an immediate and effective corrective action stun attempt, which rendered the animal insensible and it remained so thereafter. The knock box was tagged with USDA Reject tag B37063812 and Mr. REDACTED was notified of the regulatory control action and of the non-compliance.
