Non-Compliance Regulations:

313.2

Non-Compliance Description:

HATS Category III water and feed availability  On 7-1-2022, while performing the Humane Handling Verification Task at Hampton’s Premium Meats, est. 7429, I observed the following noncompliance during antemortem inspection. At 0725, I observed 3 pens of hogs, inside the barn, with no water. The barn associate observed me and immediately started filling the pans.  I told the associate that a noncompliance was pending and went to inform the owner of the situation. At 0730, upon returning to the pens and unloading area, I observed there were more hogs in the open, uncovered, outside pen without available water.  There was a trough with water, but the hogs were not able to reach the water.  I informed kill floor associate REDACTED and he immediately watered them.  I informed establishment owner Mr. REDACTED of these additional observations and of the non-compliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e).
