On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at approximately 1130 hours, while performing HATS Category III Water and Feed availability, I (REDACTED, DVM) observed two (2) calves inside one of the holding pens without accesses to water. Upon closer observation, I saw a black pail inside the holding pen, however, the black pail was empty and dry at the time of my inspection. Non-Compliance Description:

On June 23, 2022 at approximately 0703 hours, I (CSI REDACTED) identified the following noncompliance. While performing ante-mortem inspection on the animals in the barn at Medina Traders, I identified a single goat that was penned away from the other 20. This animal was in the U.S.D.A suspect pen and was not placed there by any FSIS IPP. The goat was penned with both of the exit doors to the suspect pen closed and had no access to water. This situation is not in compliance with 9CFR 313.2e which requires that animals in holding pens have access to water.
