Non-Compliance Description:

HATS Category III: Water and Feed Availability On December 7, 2021 at around 0745 hours during ante mortem inspection I, the CSI, observed heifers carried over from the previous day's ante mortem inspection had water accessible but no feed available. I had observed these heifers on site upon my arrival at approximately 0700 hours on December 6, 2021. The establishment Kill Floor Supervisor accompanied me during this inspection and observed no food was made available. I followed the Kill Floor Supervisor to the barn's feed holding area and verified that there was no food. I verbally communicated this was a non-compliance to the Kill Floor Supervisor. I applied U.S. Rejected tags No. A 7672625 and No. A 7672630 to each of two (2) livestock entrances to the slaughter floor. Feed for the livestock arrived around 0815 hours and all animals were fed. After speaking with my supervisory chain of command, I removed the U.S. Reject tags. There have been no noncompliance records issued for the same root cause within the past 90 days.
