Non-Compliance Description:

On Tuesday, August 8, at Blalock Meat Processing Est 6648, while conducting the Humane Handling task, IIC observed the following noncompliance. A farmer dropped off a cow on Monday, August 7 at 0745 hours. When the IIC arrived at 1155 hours on Tuesday, August 8, the animal had been kept for longer than 24 hours. By regulation the animal must have access to food if held longer than 24 hours. There was no evidence of food offered to the animal. This is a noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e). Plant manager was notified verbally of this noncompliance.
