On June 07, 2023, at approximately 12:20pm I CSI REDACTED was preforming a PHIS Livestock Humane Handling Task at the holding pens. While preforming this task I discovered pen 8 held one cow, and the cow had no access to water. I immediately contacted QA REDACTED and informed him of the non-compliance. I also informed Mr. REDACTED that a non-compliance report will be generated. An establishment employee then moved the cow to a pen with access to water. This action is in direct violation of the following regulation: 313.2(e) Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens and, if held longer than 24 hours, access to feed. There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down. While preforming this task I discovered the water tank that supplies water to pen #1 was empty. At the time pen #1 held 2 head of cattle. I immediately contacted Supervisor REDACTED Jr. and a kill floor plant employee and informed them of the non-compliance. I also informed Mr. REDACTED that a non-compliance report will be generated. An establishment employee then filled the water tank with water. This action is in direct violation of the following regulation: 313.2(e) Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens and, if held longer than 24 hours, access to feed. There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down. On February 10, 2023 at approximately 7:00am I CSI REDACTED was preforming a PHIS Livestock Humane Handling Task at the holding pens. While preforming this task I discovered the water tank that supplies the water to pen #2 was completely frozen over. At the time pen #2 held 5 head of cattle. The frozen water did not allow the cattle to have access to water. I immediately contacted Supervisor REDACTED and informed him of the frozen water. At approximately 7:05am I reinspected the water tank and it was clear of ice and full of water. This action is in direct violation of the following regulation: 313.2(e) Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens and, if held longer than 24 hours, access to feed. There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down. This non-compliance report will not be linked.
