Non-Compliance Description:

On 10/26/2022 at approximately 8:20am DVM REDACTED and I observed one of the swine had popped up and flipped over the drain cover leaving the drain hole exposed between pens #1 and #2. Animals were present in both pens, we also noticed that there was metal ring on the drain that looked to be how the swine were able to get underneath it. I notified plant manager REDACTED right away of the issue. This was a direct violation of: 313.1 Livestock pens, driveways and ramps. (a) Livestock pens, driveways and ramps shall be maintained in good repair. They shall be free from sharp or protruding objects which may, in the opinion of the inspector, cause injury or pain to the animals. Loose boards, splintered or broken planking, and unnecessary openings where the head, feet, or legs of an animal may be injured shall be repaired.
