On 05/31/2023 at 1:40 PM, While performing verification activities for the Livestock Humane Handling HATS category 3 Water and Feed Availability, I, Dr. REDACTED observed the following: Pen #1 & Pen#2 have usually shared the same oblong water bucket and when I was performed my Humane Handling task, I noticed there was no water available for two beef held in Pen#1 due to the whole oblong water bucket was moved to Pen#2. I immediately asked the establishment employees in the kill floor to correct the situation. I notified the supervisor Mr. REDACTED and informed him, this is a noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.2 (E) which states that: Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens and, if held longer than 24 hours, access to feed. There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down.

On March 28, 2023, at approximately 6:00am, I CSI REDACTED observed the large black chute to have a broken door hinge as well as large openings along the base of the chute. [9 CFR 313.15(b)(1)(iii)] REDACTED was notified about this non-compliance.
