HATS Category III Water and Feed Availability. Today, December 27, 2022 at approximately 0615 hours while performing antemortem inspection, the following noncompliance was observed. The container holding the water for the livestock to drink was frozen solid, approximately 12 inches deep. This is noncompliant with 9CFR313.2(e). There is a heating unit in the container, however, it was not working. Upon my notification, one of the employees added about six inches of water to the container to correct the situation, checked the breaker box and turned the heater on to keep it from freezing again. I notified Mr. REDACTED of this noncompliance both verbally and in writing with this document. A review of the noncompliance file indicated no similar non compliances in the past 90 days.
