HATS Category III - Water and Feed Availability At approximately 7AM I was in yards performing antemortem inspection on cattle in pens one and two. Pen one held thirteen head market cattle, pen two held twelve head market cattle. While performing antemortem inspection, I observed that the shared water trough for these pens had no water. I verbally notified the Harvest Manager at approximately 7:11AM of the noncompliance. The cattle were moved to pens three and four where water was present in the trough. No regulatory control action was taken as the animals were moved into pens that had water available. Today is the first day of slaughter operations at this establishment and therefore there are no associated noncompliance records for the same root cause.
