On Wednesday October 19, 2022, at approximately 7:45am at Wrights Meat Processing Est 47921, the PHV observed a humane handling non-compliance during routine slaughter of pigs. One pig was moved into the stunning area/knock box and the employee used a 22 rifle to shoot the pig, but the pig stood there and did not fall. The operator immediately shot her again which rendered her unconscious. The reject tag #B42156539 was placed on the knock box to stop operations. This non-compliance violates regulations 313.16 (a)(1).
