HATS Category III – Water and Feed Availability. On January 15, 2024, at approximately 11:21am, I, SPHV REDACTED, observed the following non-compliance at Johnsonville, LLC, Est 5536. While conducting ante-mortem inspection, I observed that the water trough located between pen 13 and the slow pen had a red hose laying inside it, but the trough was completely empty of water. Pen 13 held 15 sows and the slow pen held 3 sows. I notified a barn employee of the empty water trough, and it was immediately filled. I then notified the barn employee and REDACTED (Logistics Coordinator) that a non-compliance would be issued. The establishment failed to meet the regulatory requirements of 9 CFR 313.2(e).
