Non-Compliance Description:

On Wednesday January 17, 2024, at 8:10 am while conducting a routine ante mortem task on beef cattle I (CSI REDACTED) observed a non-compliance according to 9 CFR 312.2 (e). This non-compliance will be associated with NR#BXF0307011716N. Plant employees alerted to me that they were ready for ante mortem to be conducted, at this point I walked out to the pens and noticed all water sources were frozen solid (water buckets). A plant employee told me they were in the process of bringing water out to the animals, once again they were reminded that animals in the pens needed access to water at all times and feed if being held for longer than 24 hours. The plant was given adequate time to provide a water source in the pens but failed to do so before ante mortem was conducted. Ante mortem was not conducted until animals were provided an adequate source of water. Plant employees were notified of the non-compliance and brought the plant back into compliance by providing water in the pens. No product was affected at this time.
