On August 22, 2025, at approximately 1321 hours, while performing stunning verification activities associated with humane handling, Inspection Program Personnel (IPP) observed that establishment personnel fired multiple consecutive shots to render the market hog unconscious. Plant employee used a .38 revolver and fired multiply shots with the last shot immediately rendering it unconscious. The knock box was tagged with U.S. reject tag NO. B-45 912552 and plant management was notified of the noncompliance. The knock box was released at 1340 hours. IPP immediately notified supervisor(s). The plant immediately followed their corrective actions.

Non-Compliance Description:

On June 03, 2025, at approximately 09:11 hours, while performing stunning verification activities associated with humane handling, Inspection Program Personnel (IPP) observed that establishment personnel fired multiple consecutive shots to render the market hog unconscious. Plant employee used a .22 long rifle revolver which failed in rendering market hog unconscious. The aforementioned plant employee immediately restrained the hog and shot with a .38 revolver rendering it unconscious. The knock box was tagged with U.S. reject tag NO. B-35 069495 and plant management was notified of the noncompliance. The knock box was released at 10:45 hours. IPP immediately notified supervisor(s). The plant immediately followed their corrective actions.
