On 9/10/2025, at approximately 1115 hours, at Knights Butchering & Processing Est. M47418, IIC observe the following non-compliances while performing a Livestock Humane Handling Verification Task: In pen 1, IIC observed 5 hogs without access to water. In pen 3, IIC observed 4 hogs without water. This represents the establishment failure to ensure that animals always have access to water in holding pens as required by with 9 CFR 313.2(e) Establishment management was notified of this non-compliance. Establishment took immediate corrective actions by providing the animals with water.

On 8/27/2025, at approximately 1030 hours, at Knights Butchering & Processing (Est. M47418), IIC observe the following non-compliances while performing a Livestock Humane Handling Verification Task: In the livestock holding pens, the middle pen (Pen 2) had a broken board with 2 nail heads that are sticking out. In pens one and two, there are missing drain covers in both pens leaving the drains uncovered and exposing a sizeable opening. These findings could lead to potential harm or injury risk to the animals. This is a failure of the establishment to ensure that livestock pens are maintained in good repair and provide good footing as to prevent conditions that could injure livestock as required by 9 CFR 313.1(a) and 9 CFR 313.1(b). IIC applied U.S Rejected Tag No B45658118 and B45658119 to the affected pens. No Livestock was present during this observation. Establishment Management REDACTED and Establishment Owner REDACTED were notified of this non-compliance.
