HATS Category III On June 13th at approximately 0830 hours while walking on the premises of the establishment and the pens I observed the big door gate has not been repaired since notifying the establishment on May 16th during an establishment weekly meeting and also verbally on May 14th. The cross bar and the metal panel at the bottom of the gate is loose and rusted along with a small hard wire upward unattached. While this pen is used to place large animals with sufficient space and I have not observed any injuries to the legs or hoofs the regulation clearly states that livestock pens, driveways and ramps shall be maintained in good repair. No animals were present at the time of this inspection. Ms. REDACTED was notified of this non compliance.
