Africa Annual Inflation Rate By Country in 1994

According to data from the World Bank, in 1994, Democratic Republic of the Congo had the highest annual inflation rate (23,773.13%) as measured by the consumer prices index, followed by Angola (949.79%), and Sudan (115.4%). On the other hand, Gambia had the lowest annual inflation rate (1.71%) in Africa in 1994.

The World Bank defines inflation measured by the consumer price index as "the annual percentage change in the cost to the average consumer of acquiring a basket of goods and services that may be fixed or changed at specified intervals, such as yearly".
