According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in November 2010, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH was 238.103 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 2.5%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 9.3%
  2. Household energy: 4.5%
  3. Alcoholic beverages: 3.9%
