According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in March 2021, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH was 289.24 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 3.2%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 12.2%
  2. Food away from home: 11.8%
  3. Alcoholic beverages: 8.1%
