According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in April 2021, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH was 254.126 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 16.6%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 31.5%
  2. Household energy: 8.2%
  3. Owners' equivalent rent of residences: 1.9%
