According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in July 2021, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH was 295.211 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 5.1%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 43.5%
  2. New and used motor vehicles: 24.9%
  3. Food away from home: 15.1%
