According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May 2022, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH was 313.578 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 11.0%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 57.6%
  2. Household energy: 32.9%
  3. New and used motor vehicles: 29.2%
