According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 7% (sa) in April, 2003. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Imperial (14.1%), Colusa (13.6%), and Sutter (13%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mono (4.1%), Santa Barbara (4.6%), and San Luis Obispo (4.6%).
