According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 5.9% (sa) in January, 2008. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Colusa (20.2%), Imperial (17.7%), and Trinity (14.8%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): San Mateo (4.1%), Marin (4.1%), and Mono (4.2%).
