According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 11.2% (sa) in April, 2009. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Imperial (27.4%), Trinity (17.7%), and Sierra (17.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mono (7.2%), Marin (7.4%), and Santa Barbara (7.7%).
