According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 5.5% (sa) in August, 2016. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Imperial (27.9%), Tulare (10.6%), and Colusa (10.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): San Mateo (3.2%), San Francisco (3.4%), and Marin (3.5%).
