According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New Jersey was 6.9% (sa) in December, 2008. Among all New Jersey counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Cape May (12.3%), Cumberland (10%), and Atlantic (9.2%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hunterdon (4.6%), Morris (4.8%), and Somerset (4.9%).
