According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New Jersey was 5.2% (sa) in June, 2008. Among all New Jersey counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Cumberland (7%), Essex (6.5%), and Passaic (6.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hunterdon (3.6%), Morris (3.9%), and Somerset (4%).
