US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Violent Crime Offenses in 2022

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2022, there were 349,283 total arrests made in the US for violent crime offenses. There were 269,242 total arrests made in All Cities; 62,918 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 17,123 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 110,203 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group I - Cities had the highest (203.2), followed by Group II - Cities (161.8), and Total Cities (149.2).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
  6. Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
