Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Iowa was 1,245,335 and represented 42.00% of the total Iowa citizen population.

Among all Iowa counties, Polk had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (22.64K), followed by Scott (11.74K), and Black Hawk (11.59K).

In terms of percentages, Black Hawk had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (9.09%), followed by Scott (7.23%), and Polk (5.51%).
