Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the citizen population for New Mexico was 1,954,250 and represented 93.83% of the total New Mexico population.

Among all New Mexico counties, Bernalillo had the highest citizen population (630.48K), followed by Do�a Ana (190.40K), and Sandoval (135.13K).
