Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2020, the citizen population for New Mexico was 1,986,860 and represented 94.75% of the total New Mexico population.

Among all New Mexico counties, Bernalillo had the highest citizen population (643.71K), followed by Do�a Ana (197.26K), and Sandoval (142.00K).

In terms of percentages, De Baca had the highest percentage of its population being citizens (100.00%), followed by Mora (99.56%), and Catron (99.15%).
