Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2017, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Iowa was 1,276,885 and represented 42.27% of the total Iowa citizen population.

Among all Iowa counties, Polk had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (26.46K), followed by Scott (13.25K), and Black Hawk (11.27K).

In terms of percentages, Black Hawk had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (8.74%), followed by Scott (7.88%), and Des Moines (6.04%).
