Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2018, the California citizen population was 33.96M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen population (14.26M) and constituted 41.97% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the second highest citizen population (11.91M) and constituted 35.07% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Asian Alone ethnicity group had the third highest (4.33M), constituting 12.74% of the total citizen population.
