Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2018, the citizen voting-age population for South Dakota was 635,405 and represented 73.52% of the total South Dakota population.

Among all South Dakota counties, Minnehaha had the highest citizen voting-age population (132.66K), followed by Pennington (82.47K), and Lincoln (38.57K).

In terms of percentages, Jones had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (85.71%), followed by Custer (82.92%), and Fall River (81.55%).
