Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2019, the citizen population for New Jersey was 8,011,800 and represented 90.24% of the total New Jersey population.

Among all New Jersey counties, Bergen had the highest citizen population (826.77K), followed by Middlesex (708.28K), and Essex (696.23K).

In terms of percentages, Gloucester had the highest percentage of its population being citizens (98.25%), followed by Salem (98.20%), and Sussex (97.98%).
