Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2019, the citizen voting-age population for South Dakota was 639,670 and represented 73.47% of the total South Dakota population.

Among all South Dakota counties, Minnehaha had the highest citizen voting-age population (133.97K), followed by Pennington (83.62K), and Lincoln (40.00K).

In terms of percentages, Custer had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (82.45%), followed by Fall River (81.99%), and Jones (81.13%).
