Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2020, the citizen population for Maryland was 5,608,850 and represented 92.90% of the total Maryland population.

Among all Maryland counties, Montgomery had the highest citizen population (900.78K), followed by Prince George's (792.23K), and Baltimore (783.76K).
