Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2010, the Black or African American Alone population in Iowa was 92,468 and represented 3.03% of the total Iowa population (3,050,819).

Among Iowa counties, Polk County had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (26,934), followed by Scott County (11,938), and Black Hawk County (11,794). Davis County had the lowest (7).
