Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, the Black or African American Alone population in Iowa was 111,609 and represented 3.57% of the total Iowa population (3,122,541).

Among Iowa counties, Polk County had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (31,678), followed by Scott County (13,119), and Black Hawk County (12,415). Adams County had the lowest (10).
