According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 2,119,286 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in California, which was 5.36% of the total California population.

Los Angeles County had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (760,689), followed by San Bernardino County (173,322), and Alameda County (159,499). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone were: Sierra County (7), Alpine County (10), and Trinity County (66).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identify as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone, Solano County had the highest percentage (13.24%), followed by Alameda County (9.48%), and Sacramento County (9.19%).
