According to the data from the US 2020 Census, as at April 2020, among all Montana counties, Yellowstone County had the highest population density per square mile (62.55 people per sqr mile), followed by Silver Bow County (48.93 people per sqr mile), and Gallatin County (45.66 people per sqr mile).

On the other hand, Garfield County had the lowest population density (0.25 people per sqr mile), followed by Petroleum County (0.30 people per sqr mile), and Carter County (0.42 people per sqr mile).
