According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2017, the death rate for New Mexico was 8.85. Sierra County had the highest death rate (23.4), followed by Quay County (15.35), and De Baca County (14.8). On the other hand, Mora County had the lowest death rate (6.62), followed by Los Alamos County (6.92), and Doña Ana County (7.1).
