According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2017, the number of deaths for Massachusetts was 58,151. Middlesex had the highest number of deaths (11,607), followed by Worcester (7,256), and Essex (6,879). On the other hand, Nantucket had the lowest number of deaths (68), followed by Dukes (158), and Franklin (745).
