According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2023, the number of deaths for New Jersey was 77,131. Ocean had the highest number of deaths (7,659), followed by Bergen (7,058), and Essex (6,174). On the other hand, Salem had the lowest number of deaths (782), followed by Hunterdon (1,050), and Warren (1,166).
